The CFIA would like to announce that the current plant health import permit application, form CFIA/ACIA 5256, has been updated. The form number, CFIA/ACIA 5256, and its title, Application to Import Plants and Other Things under the Plant Protection Act, remain unchanged; however, its content, the methods by which it can be submitted, and how credit cardholder data can be provided have been updated.
These changes are geared towards the digital transition that the agency is undergoing.
The following permissions are not yet available through My CFIA. Refer to instructions on the form.
- Import Permit: Unprocessed/raw grains, oilseeds, or plant-based meals
- Program Registration: Wood Products and Wood Packaging
- Unprocessed/raw grains, oilseeds, or plant-based meals
Note: This application requires supporting documentation to be processed. Please include the questionnaire(s) that apply to your product(s):
- export of plant-based meals to Canada
- domestic treatment of imported grains and oilseeds
